The True Owners of America's Riches: It's Time for a Fair Share

The United States is a land rich in natural resources, from vast oil reserves to fertile land to the minerals beneath our feet. In theory, these treasures belong to all Americans. They're part of our shared heritage. But the reality is much different. A closer look reveals that it's the big companies and a handful of wealthy individuals who control and profit from these resources. Meanwhile, too many regular folks are struggling just to get by.

Here's the thing: poverty in America isn't an accident. It's the result of choices made by those in power. When laws are written to benefit the rich and powerful, when tax codes favor the wealthy, when big corporations get to exploit natural resources without giving back their fair share,it's clear that the system is rigged.

Universal Basic Income (UBI) and universal healthcare are about changing that system. They're about saying that every single American has a right to share in the wealth that our land and labor produce. It's about making sure that everyone,no matter where they come from or how much money they have, can live with dignity.

The money for these programs can come from the profits that are generated from our natural resources. Instead of going into the pockets of CEOs and shareholders, a portion should be invested back into the community, into the people. It's not socialism; it's fairness. It's not about giving handouts; it's about giving people what they've already earned.

When you hear someone say that we can't afford UBI or healthcare for all, remember that it's a political choice, not an economic necessity. The money is there. The resources are there. The question is: who benefits from them?

The time has come to redefine what "ours" really means. It means the land, the resources, and the wealth of this nation belongs to all its people. Poverty doesn't have to exist in a country as rich as ours. We can choose a different path,a path where prosperity is shared and poverty is a relic of the past.

It's time to demand our piece of the pie. It's time to make sure that when it comes to the treasures of our land, we all get what's rightfully ours.
